How to Add a PDF Printer to Windows

Primo PDF
  • Go to the PrimoPDF website (see Resources). Click the "Download Free" button. The link will take you to the CNET Download website.
  • Click "Download Now." Click "Save File" to save the installation file on your computer.
  • Double-click the Primo PDF Printer installation file after the download completes. Click "Run." Choose your language from the list and click "OK."
  • Click "I Agree" to proceed with the installation. Choose whether to install Bing in your Web browser.
  • Click "Install." Enter your registration information after the installation is completed. Click "Finish."
  • Drag and drop a file to the Primo PDF desktop shortcut. This will convert the file to a PDF. To convert in an application, click "File" then "Print" and select Primo PDF as the printer.



Bullzip
  • Navigate to the Bullzip website (see Resources) and click "PDF Printer" under "Free Products." Choose your download location and click the file to begin downloading. Click "Save" to save the file to your hard disk.
  • Double-click the Bullzip ZIP file to open it. Double-click the executable file inside and click "Run."
  • Select your language and click "OK." Bullzip supports many languages, some of which are user-contributed.
  • Click "Next" to agree with the license terms. Check the corresponding boxes if you want shortcuts on your Desktop and/or Quick Launch, then click "Install."
  • Click "Finish" after installation. Bullzip will open the "Printers" window, displaying all installed printers. Right-click on the printer name, and select "Set As Default Printer" if you would like it to be your default printer. To access Bullzip PDF Printer, click "File" and "Print" in an application, then select Bullzip from the "Printer Name" list.



Cute PDF Writer
  • Go to the CutePDF website (see Resources) and click "Cute PDF Writer."
  • Click "Free Download" on the left-hand column of the screen. Click "Save" to save the printer installation file to your computer.
  • Download and install the latest version of the free Ghostscript PDF interpreter from the same CutePDF webpage.
  • Double-click and install CutePDF Writer. Click "Next," agree to the terms of use, and choose whether or not to install the "Ask Toolbar" on your browser. Click "Next" and then "Install" to finish the process.
  • Click "File" then "Print" in an application. Select CutePDF Writer as the printer.
